We’re proud to sponsor the Junior Mustangs U10 Gray Team, a group of young athletes who show up week after week with real teamwork, effort, and community spirit. Championing local youth sports is something we believe in wholeheartedly, and this team makes it easy to cheer loudly.
Youth sports shape more than a child’s physical health. It builds confidence, teaches resilience, and gives kids a sense of belonging on a team. Whether they’re chasing a ball down the field or lacing up for hockey practice, staying active helps children develop strength, coordination, and the kind of grit that carries into other parts of life.
As healthcare providers, we also know that keeping young athletes healthy matters just as much as helping them perform well (a tired, sore body doesn’t get to enjoy the game nearly as much).
Preventing Sports Injuries Starts Early
Kids’ bodies are growing and changing constantly, and that’s part of what makes youth sports so demanding for them. Add in regular practices and games, and overuse injuries or muscle soreness can creep in.
Parents can help lower the risk by encouraging their young athletes to:
- Warm up before every practice and game
- Stretch after physical activity
- Stay hydrated
- Wear properly fitted protective equipment
- Rest and recover between activities
These habits don’t take much extra time, but teaching them early builds a foundation for healthy movement both on and off the field.
Recognizing When Something Isn’t Right
Feeling tired after a hard practice is completely normal for an active kid. Pain that lingers is a different story.
If your child has recurring pain, limps after activity, or seems hesitant to return to their sport after an injury, it may be worth having them assessed by a healthcare provider. Early assessment may help identify factors contributing to discomfort and guide appropriate care.
Depending on what’s going on, chiropractic care, physiotherapy, or massage therapy may each have a role to play in recovery. Every child moves differently, so the right plan really does depend on the individual.
Proud to Invest in Our Local Community
Sponsoring the Junior Mustangs U10 Gray Team means a lot more to us than a logo on a jersey. It’s about investing in the health and well-being of kids in our community and encouraging active, confident lifestyles from a young age.
Watching these kids grow into stronger, more confident athletes each season is exactly why we love being part of this community. Sports teach lessons that go far beyond the field, and we’re honoured to help these young athletes stay healthy while they learn them.

We believe strong communities are built by investing in the local organizations that help kids develop discipline, confidence, and a genuine love of movement. Here’s wishing the players, coaches, and families a fantastic season. We’ll be cheering from the sidelines all year.
