Reset Chiropractic & Rehab at the Maple Leaf Foods Wellness Event in London, Ontario
This September 2026, our team headed over to Maple Leaf Foods’ London facility for their Health and Wellness Event. We spent the day talking with the company’s employees about the aches, strains and nagging injuries that can come with physically demanding work.
Our chiropractors discussed ways to reduce injury risk, what treatment may involve, and how workplace health benefits may apply to different services. As a locally owned practice, getting out into the community to meet the people who keep London’s plants running is one of our favourite parts of the job.
Supporting the Health of Our Local Workforce
Manufacturing and production work can be tough on the body. Depending on the role, a shift might mean hours of standing, lifting, reaching, bending, or doing the same motion over and over. Over time, workers may experience lower back pain, neck and shoulder tension, hip or knee discomfort, stiff and achy joints, repetitive strain injuries, wrist and hand symptoms, reduced mobility, or difficulty recovering between shifts.
Not every injury has an obvious starting point. Some people don’t remember a specific moment when things “went wrong.” Instead, discomfort may develop gradually alongside workload, previous injuries and limited recovery time.
That’s part of the value of conversations like these: helping workers recognise concerns, particularly when they’re persistent or begin affecting work, sleep or everyday activities.
Practical Conversations About Pain, Movement and Reducing Injury Risk
Talking directly with Maple Leaf Foods employees was the best part of the day. Every job is different, and honestly, every body is too. A movement that aggravates one person’s shoulder might not bother the person working right next to them. Strength, mobility, sleep, previous injuries and workload may all play a role.
There’s no single stretch or strategy that can eliminate the risk of injury. However, changing position when the job allows, using appropriate lifting techniques, taking short movement breaks, building strength gradually, allowing time for recovery between demanding shifts, and reporting workplace injuries promptly may help reduce physical strain or injury risk. Persistent or worsening symptoms are also worth having assessed rather than simply waiting them out.
What makes sense for each person comes back to their health history, job demands, assessment findings and individual goals.
Using Maple Leaf Foods Employee Health Benefits
Depending on their individual plan, Maple Leaf Foods employees may have extended health coverage for services such as chiropractic care, physiotherapy, registered massage therapy, acupuncture or custom orthotics.
Reset Chiropractic & Rehab offers direct billing to many insurance providers when available. In those cases, patients typically pay the portion their plan doesn’t cover.
Every plan is a little different. Annual maximums, referral requirements, eligible services and reimbursement amounts can vary, so employees should check their benefit information or contact their insurer to confirm their individual coverage. If you’re not sure where to start, our front desk team can explain the direct-billing process and check whether your insurer accepts electronic claims.
Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Services for Area Workers
We built Reset Chiropractic & Rehab around the idea that people shouldn’t have to bounce between multiple clinics for one injury. Under our roof, you’ll find:
- Chiropractic care
- Physiotherapy
- Registered massage therapy
- Acupuncture
- WSIB workplace injury care
- Exercise rehabilitation
- Shockwave therapy
- Custom orthotics
Every plan of care starts with a conversation about how the pain or injury started, what makes it worse, and what you need your body to be able to do at work and at home. An assessment helps us learn more about what’s going on before recommendations are made.
Depending on the findings, treatment may involve manual therapy, chiropractic adjustments, soft-tissue work, acupuncture, mobility training or a structured rehabilitation program. Recommendations are based on the individual, their assessment findings and their goals.
What If the Injury Happened at Work?
Report it and follow your workplace’s process first.
From there, our team can help with the clinical side, including an assessment and, when indicated, a treatment plan based on your findings, work demands and return-to-work goals. We accept WSIB workplace injury patients.
One thing worth knowing: extended health benefits and WSIB are handled separately, so the billing process that applies will depend on the circumstances of the injury.
